Bellingham Must Compete With Morgan Rogers For UK Number 10 Position

JAKARTA - Thomas Tuchel has warned Jude Bellingham that he will face competition with Morgan Rogers to play number 10 in the England National Team (Timnas) upon his return to the squad.

Bellingham did not participate in last month's international clash against Wales and Latvia as he was restoring his fitness after shoulder surgery.

Rogers impressed during Bellingham's absence, ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualification match against Serbia at Wembley on Friday, November 14, 2025, early morning WIB, Tuchel was asked if Aston Villa and Bellingham midfielders could be played at the same time.

"I don't know. I think so, but of course neither of them are in the same position. Instead of looking for a position for the best players to keep them on the pitch, it might be better to put everyone in the best position and compete."

"So, at this time the competition is only between the two of them. They are friends, so this can also be a friendly competition. You don't have to be hostile and don't have to hate each other."

Bellingham's return has attracted a lot of attention considering the Real Madrid midfielder has been in his first England squad since Tuchel questioned several things about his behavior after the defeat of the friendly against Senegal in June 2025.
