The Presence Of Senior Players Is Expected To Be The Pillar Of The U-23 Indonesian National Team At The 2025 SEA Games

The presence of players who have strengthened the senior Indonesian national team is expected to help the U-23 Indonesian national team (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono) a lot.

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, called 33 players to undergo training camp (TC) in preparation for the 2025 Thailand SEA Games. From a series of names, the coach hopes that the player labeled the senior Indonesian national team can become a pillar for this age group.

Of the 33 names of players who took part in the training camp, there were five names who had actually tasted the moment of defending the senior Indonesian national team on various occasions. The five are Muhammad Ferari, Ivar Jenner, Hokky Caraka, Rafael Struick, and Mauro Zijlstra.

"We also certainly hope that the players who have played in the senior (Indonesian National Team) will become an important pillar for us to build this team (U-23 Indonesian National Team)," said Indra Sjafri after training at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Although he hopes for senior players, Indra Sjafri emphasizes that there will be no players who will be privileged during the training camp process. All will have the same status and are judged based on their respective performances.

"I (have) held a class session and we have said that all the players I thank you for being here."

"My treatment as a coach to them is the same. There is no difference, be it abroad players, be it local players. Everything is equally important," said Indra explaining.

In this training camp, the U-23 Indonesian national team will undergo two trial matches against Mali U-23. This match will take place on November 15 and 18, 2025 at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, in preparation for the end before completing the 2025 SEA Games.
