Doku Boasts After Defeating Liverpool: It's Difficult For A Team To Draw Against Manchester City While In The Best Performance

Jeremy Doku reiterated that Manchester City is already in the best form for the Premier League title race (Instagram/@mancity).

JAKARTA - Jeremy Doku said Manchester City did not pay attention to Arsenal's performance after announcing that they were still in the Premier League title race after beating Liverpool 3-0 on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

He emphasized that only a few teams will be able to keep up with Pep Guardiola's side as Manchester City continues to show their best performance.

The Citizens destroyed Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium, with Doku playing a major role. Guardiola said after the game that the result proved Manchester City was ready to challenge the title.

Although Doku said he was not focused on leaders of Arsenal, he believes Mikel Arteta's team - who are four points ahead - will find it difficult to keep up with if Manchester City continues to play like they did against Liverpool.

"We only saw ourselves. We have built a team and know that we can still develop."

"The performance we showed (against Liverpool) made us very happy, but we still have to improve in every game."

"We don't really pay attention to Arsenal. What other teams are doing, because in the end, we know that it all depends on us."

"We know that if we play well, it is difficult (there is a team) to match us," said Doku as quoted by ESPN.

Doku has been enjoying his best season at Manchester City since arriving from Rennes in 2023. The 23-year-old has scored three goals - including his beautiful goal against Liverpool - which has only five goals adrift of his best record last season with eight goals.

He was already on the right track to break the record, but the Belgian insists he is not focused on points.

"I didn't do that because I thought it came from themselves. I'm just trying to get more goals."

"However, I'm not a player who will think of the game and say if you don't score, you don't provide assists, you play badly."

"I'm not the type of player like that. A bad game for me if I don't touch the ball, if I'm not effective, or if I lose a lot of balls, it's a bad game."

"If I didn't score today, would I say it was a bad game? No, I would say it was a good game."

"That's how I am and it will be like that in the future," said Doku again.
