Indonesian Basketball National Team Trials In Australia For SEA Games 2025 Preparation

The Indonesian Basketball national team continues to finalize preparations to welcome the 2025 SEA Games (doc. Perbasi).

JAKARTA The Indonesian Basketball national team will undergo several trial matches in Australia as part of preparations to welcome the 2025 SEA Games by the end of this year.

The trial in this training camp is planned to take place from 21 October 2025 to 2 November 2025.

The manager of the Indonesian national team, Rivaldo Tandra Pangesthio, said that while in Australia the Garuda Squad was scheduled to undergo a number of test matches against local teams.

"We think this can be a good preparation and match practice for the players," Rivaldo said in an official statement received.

The Indonesian Basketball national team has been preparing for the SEA Games since September 10, 2025 with a strength of 24 players. A few weeks later, David Singleton as coach cut six players.

They are Abraham Wenas, Fisyaiful Amir, Kelvin Sanjaya, Gede Elgi Wimbardi, Adrien Maxime Alain Chalias, and Neo Putu Satria Pande.

Singleton will then cut again, shrinking to 15 names only to be brought into the training camp program that will take place in Australia later.

"Through this series of trials, we want to see the extent of the player's development as well as measure the team's readiness in various match situations," said Rivaldo.

The opportunity to practice and compete abroad is expected to add to the experience of the players. In addition, it can strengthen cooperation and understanding between players on the field.

Rivaldo hopes that with this program, the team can be more solid, strategically mature, and have a high fighting mentality when facing the official tournament later.

The 2025 SEA Games in Thailand will take place on 9-20 December. A total of 50 sports and 574 match numbers will be contested.
