Clashes Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury Could Happen Next Year

JAKARTA The long-awaited battle between British boxer Anthony Joshua (AJ), against his compatriot Tyson Fury is likely to occur next summer.

Fury, who decided to retire after his second defeat against Oleksandr Usyk at the end of last year and missed this year, indicated he would return to the ring next year.

This was welcomed by the famous boxing promoter Eddie Hearn. He said that this automatically opens up the possibility that Joshua versus Fury's duel could be realized.

"That's exactly what everyone wants to hear. The thing AJ wants the most is against Tyson Fury. It's the biggest fight in the sport. I really hope," he said.

Joshua also has not fought again after suffering defeat against Daniel Dubois in the race for the IBF heavyweight belt in September 2024 at Wembley Stadium, London.

After recovering, Joshua has plans to return to the ring later this year. He may have had one or two more fights before arranging negotiations against Fury.

"The most important thing is to make sure AJ is 110 percent confident and ready to beat Tyson Fury. We have to be able to plan for the most important moment of his career," Hearn said.

Fury also likely had a warm-up fight before the duel with Joshua, who was touted as the duel to determine who was the king of the heavyweight in the United Kingdom.

The fighter nicknamed Good King has an impressive record of never losing before taking the ring against Usyk in his last two clashes, all of which ended in defeat.

The first defeat in May last year made him have to see Usyk become the undisputed world champion. Meanwhile, their second duel did not take the world champion undisputedly.
