JAKARTA Fabio Wardley firmly believes Oleksandr Usyk has a desire to fight him if he manages to win the fight against Joseph Parker at the end of this month.
The British boxer is scheduled to face Parker on October 25, 2025 at the O2 Arena, London, England. The winner of this fight will undergo a mandatory WBO heavyweight match, one of the four belts currently held by Usyk.
If Usyk wants to defend his WBO belt then he has to fight the winner of one of them. However, the Ukrainian boxer has the option to empty the WBO belt.
"I think (against) me is an interesting fight for him," Wardley said responding to Usyk's possibility of preferring to vacate his belt.

Usyk has actually been ordered by WBO to undergo a mandatory fight against Parker after winning knockout (KO) against Daniel Dubois on July 19, 2025 at Wembley Stadium, London, England.
The 38-year-old fighter was given 30 days to negotiate with Parker. However, he instead applied for an extension of time because he had to recover from injury.
Therefore, Parker also chose to risk his WBO interm belt against Wardley. That is, if he loses then he has the opportunity to fight Usyk automatically disappears.
"I think maybe he's one of the most entertaining fighters right now. I think he's really talented at entertaining, both inside and outside the ring. So, I think he's definitely going to enjoy the fight with me," Wardley said.
Usyk is the undisputed world heavyweight champion twice and has never lost in 24 professional fights.
Before winning against Dubois to become world heavyweight champion undisputed for the second time, he first won over Tyson Fury to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
