JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Patrick Kluivert, revealed the current condition of the players ahead of the match against Saudi Arabia in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification.
The match will take place at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah on Thursday, October 9. Kluiver said, for that agenda the players were in excellent condition during their first training.
In the inaugural exercise on Friday, October 3 evening Jeddah time, Saudi Arabia there were 16 players who joined. They undergo light training as an early stage of training.
Details of the 16 players consisted of eight players departing from Jakarta on Thursday, October 2, two goalkeepers, four players from Thailand, one player departing from Malaysia, and Ole Romeny.
According to Kluivert, players who are already in Jeddah are in top condition and their presence provides positive energy to deal with Saudi Arabia.
"In this period the players showed a very fantastic thing. The players went through a high period (with the club) and got a good experience," Kluiver said in a statement quoted on Sunday, October 5.
In the inaugural training session, the squad was not complete because they were still waiting for the other 13 players to join. However, Kluivert was not afraid because he believed the players who followed would provide additional energy for the Garuda Squad.

For Kluivers, the squad that joins gradually does not need to be an obstacle. This has been experienced from before and the most important thing is that when they gather, they can appear solid.
"I think we will soon be integrated (in solidarity). Everyone knows our work patterns. And we have experienced times like this before," said the Dutch coach.
"Players come alternately, players will unite with them as soon as they arrive," he said enthusiastically because he saw the condition of the team before fighting Saudi Arabia.
