Savinho Signs New Contract With Manchester City: Trusts Guardiola To Help Develop

JAKARTA - Savinho has signed a contract extension with Manchester City. The Brazilian winger has signed a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, with the option of an extension of one year.

This agreement is a two-year extension of his contract, which previously ended in 2029. The 21-year-old player was targeted by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer market, but has now promised to extend his future with The Citizens.

"I am very proud to be signing this new contract with Manchester City. It feels very special to know that Pep (Guardiola) and the club have given me such great trust."

"I feel I still have a lot to improve on. I'm still young and really want to keep learning."

Despite interest from Tottenham, Manchester City are determined to keep Savinho seeing his first positive season in the Premier League after his move from Girona.

Speaking in August 2025, Guardiola said he wanted the forward to last for years.

He has now followed in the footsteps of Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, Rico Lewis, and Nico O'Reliance who signed a contract extension with Manchester City last year.

"Savinho is still very young, but he has shown that he has the qualities needed to be a really amazing player."
