Erick Thohir Will Simplify All Regulations Of The Ministry Of Youth And Sports

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Erick Thohir will simplify all regulations within the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).

Currently, there are a total of 191 Ministerial Regulations that have been in effect since 2009. Of these, it will be simplified to 20 only to make it easier for all sports stakeholders.

"We will simplify it into a rule that makes it easier and balanced, but the goal is the same for the good of our nation," said Erick in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

This step is taken in accordance with the applicable standards at the national level and is not counterproductive to the rules of international sports parent-inductors.

Erick said that the breakthrough for improving the system was carried out as part of introspection and transformation in the ministry he leads as well as improving Indonesia's sports achievements.

"Athletes are the main object. Management must be behind so that achievements come first."

"Menpora as its biggest umbrella will improve the system so that our achievements will improve," he said.

In addition to summarizing the rules, Erick Thohir also officially revoked Permenpora Number 14 of 2024 concerning the Standard Management of Achievement Sports Scope Sports Organizations.

Permenpora Number 14 of 2024 concerning the Management Standard of Sports Organizations of Sports Scope Achievement was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports previously Dito Ariotedjo on October 18, 2024.

The presence of this regulation had caused polemics among sports players because it was considered not in line with the Olympic Charter (Olympic Charter) and intervened too much in the role of sports organizations.
