Azerbaijan 2025 F1 Results: Max Verstappen Podium First

JAKARTA Red Bull's driver and four-time world champion Max Verstappen managed to appear dominant from start to finish to claim victory in the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 race.

The 27-year-old Belgian-Dutch racer finished the race on the Raw City Circuit track on Sunday, September 21, 2025, with a record time of 1 hour 33 minutes 26,408 seconds.

Verstappen was impressive in leading the entire 51 rounds and won by a margin of +14,609 seconds over Mercedes and Carlos Sainz' George Russell, who claimed his first podium for the Williams team.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who almost climbed the podium, had to settle for filling fourth place. Italian racer far ahead of New Zealand's Liam Lawson, who is in fifth place, who is the best result of his career.

Following that was Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese racer finished in sixth place after putting intense pressure at the end of the match to maintain the advantage over Lando Norris who was trailing in seventh place.

Norris, who defended McLaren, also started the race from seventh. He struggled to make progress through a single pit stop series, but ended up only being able to reduce Oscar Piastri's lead in the race for six points.

Piastri failed to finish in Azerbaijan after experiencing a poor opening round, breaking through traffic lights, and activating anti-stalls from P9 before the crash at Turn 5.

Failed to finish to make Piastri unable to add points. He now sits at the top of the standings fixed with 324 points and so only 25 points ahead of Norris who trails in second place.

Ferrari's duo, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, consecutively filled eighth and ninth place. Both are ahead of Isack Hadjar of Racing Bulls which completes the top 10.
