Arsenal Vs Man City, Guardiola: Player Shopping Will Determine Achievements

JAKARTA - Pep Guardiola supports Arsenal and Liverpool's right to massive spending on the transfer market. However, he believes Manchester City will be treated very differently in terms of bringing in new players.

The Citizens will travel to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 21, 2025, WIB night, to face Arsenal's side who have been spurred by a transfer fee of more than 250 million pounds over the summer.

Liverpool, last season's Premier League champions, spent more than 400 million pounds on the transfer market, including spending more than 100 million each for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

"I know how they are treated very differently. What he (Arteta) wants to spend is because they want it. It doesn't matter," said Guardiola.

Manchester City together with Arsenal and Liverpool are still favorites for the 2025/2026 Premier League title.

After last season's unexpressible journey, The Citizens have seen a rise this season. The new ammunition brought in in two transfer periods is like a solution to return to achieving the best performance for the league title.

Despite struggling at the start of the season, with defeats against Tottenham Hotspur (0-2) and Brighton (1-2), Guardiola's troops have begun to find their touch.
