List Of Referees Leading The Indonesian National Team Match In The 2026 World Cup Qualification

The Indonesian national team will be led by referees from Kuwait and China in the 2026 World Cup Qualification (VOI/Karisa Aurelia Tukan).

JAKARTA - FIFA has released a list of referees who will lead the Indonesian national team match in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. On that agenda, the Garuda Squad will face Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

In a letter signed by FIFA's Head of Qualifiers and International Matches, Gordon Savic, dated September 12, 2025, FIFA has announced all the referees on duty. The letter has also been sent to PSSI.

For the match between Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia, all the referees on duty come from Kuwait. Only the referee supervisor was filled with referees from Uzbekistan, namely Vladislav Tseytlin.

The Iraq vs Indonesia match will be led by referees from China. Only the referee supervisor came from Singapore, namely John Cia Eng Wah.

After receiving the FIFA circular, PSSI admitted that he was disappointed. Especially for the match against Saudi Arabia which was led by a referee from Kuwait.

In fact, previously PSSI had protested so that the referee was chosen from a neutral country.

In PSSI's view, ideally the referee who led the 2026 World Cup Qualification continued match did not come from the same region, in this case not from West Asia.

"The Secretary General (PSSI) has sent an official letter to FIFA, I sent it to the AFC regarding the appointment of a referee who turned out to be from the same region, from Kuwait."

"We are trying to lobby if possible, referees are a more neutral place, such as Australia, Japan, China, or even Europe," said Erick Thohir previously during a press conference at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, September 16, 2025.

Regarding the protests filed by PSSI, until now there has been no reply from FIFA. The federation is still trying to get the best response from FIFA.
