Ginting Statistics After Comeback: Never Win

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has never won in the top five tournaments after returning from injury (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has not tasted a win at all after he recovered from a shoulder injury problem in early July 2025.

Ginting's latest defeat was in the first round of the China Masters 2025 on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, against Leong Jun Hao (Malaysia) which ended in three games 19-21, 21-5, and 10-21.

Ginting fell behind almost throughout the first game before dominating the second game. However, in the game determination Leong took the lead from start to finish.

"In the third game, unfortunately I made a lot of mistakes myself at the beginning. In fact, the intention was to complain like the first game. In addition, I was also not able to develop the way I played," said Ginting.

This is Ginting's fifth tournament after recovering from a shoulder injury, a problem that kept him out for approximately six months after Malaysia Open in January 2025.

Ginting's four tournaments before China Masters are Japan Open (Super 750), China Open (Super 1000), BWF World Championships, and Hong Kong Open (Super 500).

Of the five defeats, Ginting played rubber games four times. Apart from the Chinese Masters, he also played rubber games at the China Open, World Championships, and Hong Kong.

"Until this fifth tournament, feelings and ways of playing have not returned 100 percent as before. This is still homework," said the owner of the 2020 Olympic bronze medal.

Ginting is one of three Indonesian men's singles playing at the 2025 China Masters. He participated with the 2023 junior world champions, Alwi Farhan, and Jonatan Christie.
