England's Victory Over Serbia Can Convincing Supporters

JAKARTA - The England National Team (Timnas) captain Harry Kane believes a convincing 5-0 win over Serbia could be the starting point for the 2026 World Cup glory.

The Euro 2024 runner-up marks Thomas Tuchel's glory with an unforgettable night at Belgrade.

Goals from Kane, Noni Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, and Marcus Rashford brought them closer to winning tickets to the 2026 World Cup finals.

Although England have won all four previous European Zone 2026 World Cup Qualifiers matches under Tuchel, in general their performances are unsatisfactory, especially as they have to fight hard to win 1-0 and 2-0 over Andora's weak team.

However, everything went smoothly in a match that was supposed to be their toughest mission in qualifying, namely against Serbia. That made Kane excited.

"Come to a really difficult place and play like that, clean-sheet, five goals, rarely threatened. Salut to the players, we made the game look easy."

At the age of 32, Kane knew he might be heading for his last World Cup and was determined to enjoy every moment left in an English uniform.

"Sometimes it's difficult to process. I leave it to Djed Spence's debut appearance there. I really feel a little emotional because I know how hard he works."

"I remember how it felt for me when I got my first cap. So, I appreciate every moment wearing a British uniform."

"I know it won't last forever, so I'm trying to enjoy it. However, I feel good, I feel not only me, but the whole team is playing well. I feel sharp, I feel ready and excited for the next World Cup," Kane said again.

England are currently at the top of Group K of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers with a perfect 15 of the five matches they have played. In fact, they have never conceded and scored 13 goals.

Before meeting Serbia, the Three Lions got a cynical view from supporters for winning hard against weak teams, such as Andora, Latvia, and Albania.

Ahead of a visit to Belgrade, Tuchel confirmed that the party against Serbia will prove and silence the criticism that has been leading to the Three Lions troops.

Sure enough, England won convincingly - which of course according to the wishes of supporters - against the team that is the main competitor in the race for tickets for the 2026 World Cup finals.
