Usyk Tanding Football For The Promotion Of The Charity Agency

JAKARTA The undisputed heavyweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk, will play a football match to promote his charity.

The match with the title Legends Charity Game will take place at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, Lisbon, Portugal, on September 15, 2025. Usyk will appear with a number of green field legends.

"All the other players are former footballers, but when Usyk asked if he could play or not, you would answer yes," said Sport Global CEO Rasmus Sojmark, confiscated by ESPN.

The match will promote the Usyk Foundation, a charity founded by the 38-year-old fighter to help Ukrainian society and soldiers.

The former green field stars who will be present in this match are Edwin van der Sar, Petr Cech, John Terry, Michael Owen, Roberto Carlos, Carles Puyol, Alessandro Del Piero, Henrik Larsson, Cafu, and Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite alias Kaka.

Usyk will only play for 10 minutes in that game. He will receive close supervision because he is still struggling with the injuries he got in the win against Daniel Dubois in July 2025.

It was this medical issue that made the WBO boxing body willing to fulfill Usyk's request to extend the time of negotiations related to the mandatory clash against Joseph Parker.

Thus, Usyk could have more time to recover before determining his next steps, including the desire to trilogy with his rival Tyson Fury.

Sergey Lapin, who serves as CEO of the Usyk team, said that his client was indeed in injury problems, but that doesn't mean he has to limit himself from any physical activity.

"Usyk is not required to just take a break in bed. He is allowed to participate in charity sporting events and is allowed to carry out physical activity on a medium scale," said Sergey.

Usyk had previously submitted medical evidence to WBO which explained his inability to return to training so that the boxing body granted his request.

The unbeaten world champion will enter the ring against Parker or Fabio Wardley, who will fight on October 25, 2025. In addition, he also has the option of emptying the WBO belt.
