Jannik Sinner Secures Tickets For The 2025 US Open Semifinals

JAKARTA - Jannik Sinner reached the semifinals of the US Open 2025 after defeating compatriot Lorenzo Musetti, in the first clash between fellow Italian players in the men's singles Grand Slam quarter-finals.

The first seed continued his efforts to defend the title with easy wins 6-1, 6-4, and 6-2 at Flushing Meadows, New York, United States, on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

In this clash, Musetti was unable to convert a single one of his seven break points and only got 12 winners compared to Jannik Sinner's 28 winners.

"This is a very special moment. Being able to return to the semifinals of the Grand Slam is an extraordinary achievement," was confiscated from ESPN.

The latest victory makes Sinner achieve the fifth Grand Slam semifinals in a row. If he wins again then he will reach the fourth Grand Slam final this year.

Sinner previously managed to reach the finals at the 2025 Australian Open, Wimbledon, and French Open (Rolland Garros). The last tournament was the only one he failed to win after losing against Carlos Alcaraz.

The 24-year-old has won 26 hard-field Grand Slam games, which included the last two editions of the Australian Open and the US Open last year.

"To be honest I've never fought a tennis player who made me have to rush like before and didn't have many chances at the rally. So, my feelings are a bit bad about it," said Musetti.

Sinner will next meet with Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian tennis player reached the semifinals after stopping Alex De Minaur in a dramatic 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5, and 7-6 (4) matches.
