Liverpool Approve UK Transfer Record For Alexander Isak, Disburse IDR 2.8 Trillion

JAKARTA - Liverpool have approved a record British transfer to recruit striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

According to ESPN reports, the 2024/2025 Premier League champions have received an offer of 130 million pounds (approximately IDR 2.8 trillion) to recruit the Swedish National Team player, who is expected to undergo a medical test ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The deal ended one of the longest transfer beds in the stock exchange this summer, with Isak having spent more than a month fighting for his move from Newcastle.

The 25-year-old did not join The Magpies' first team on their pre-season tour and has yet to appear for Eddie Howe's side this season.

He also released a sensational statement earlier this month in which he claimed promises had been broken by Newcastle officials and insisted that this summer's move would be in the best interest of all parties.

Isak is now ready to become the most expensive signing in Premier League history, surpassing Chelsea's Moises Caicedo who joined the London club for 115 million pounds from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023.

This marks the second time this summer Liverpool broke a record transfer, after Arne Slot's side committed to issuing an initial 100 million pounds (a potential increase of 16 million pounds in addition) to signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2025.
