Carlos Alcaraz Wins Easy To Qualify For The Third Round Of The US Open 2025

JAKARTA - Carlos Alcaraz qualified for the third round of the US Open 2025 thanks to an easy victory in the second half on Thursday, August 28, 2025, WIB night, a year after he lost in the same round at the Grand Slam tournament at the end of the season.

Alcaraz, the second seed - who shaved off his hair after his brother chatted over his hair - took him more than 1.5 hours to beat Italy's Mattia Bellucci who was in 65th place with a score of 6-1, 6-0, and 6-3 at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Flushing Meadows.

This victory marks Alcaraz's 79th victory in a major tournament, in the appearance of the 19th Grand Slam.

Among the players who made their debut in the Open Era, only John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg, and Rafael Nadal were able to win more in their first 19 appearances in a major tournament.

Alcaraz will aim for the 80th victory in a major tournament on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 22.30 WIB, against 32nd seed Luciano Darderi. This will be their first meeting in their career.
