Deontay Wilder Opens Up Against Francis Ngannou

JAKARTA Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder is open to fighting against Francis Ngannou, the former UFC star, next year.

Wilder's manager, Shelly Finkel, said that the fight against Ngannou was one of the most prospective matches for her clients.

"Deontay Wilder will be open to the fight next year," he said as quoted by Sky Sport.

Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight world champion, previously uploaded a video showing himself hitting samsak on social media by accompanying information to challenge Wilder.

"It's time to finish this debate Bronze Bomber," he wrote.

The debate he meant was about who between him and Deontay Wilder was entitled to the status of the strongest boxer in the world.

Wilder was previously considered the strongest boxer in the world of boxing. Even though he is now 39 years old, his punch is still considered dangerous.

The United States fighter bounced back from successive defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang with a win over pundit Anthony Herndon in fall in June 2025.

On the other hand, Ngannou has never won a professional boxing match. However, he has fought against former world heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Against Joshua, he lost knockout (KO) in the second round, but fought for 10 rounds against Fury as he made his boxing debut.

Ngannou even managed to bring down Fury, who at that time held the WBC heavyweight world title. He finally only lost through a separate decision (split decision).
