Kane Praises Instant's Connection With Diaz After Scored A Hattrick For Bayern Munich

JAKARTA - Harry Kane praised Luis Diaz's instant connection after the new player provided assists for two of his three goals in Bayern Munich 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday, August 23, 2025 WIB.

The hat trick of the 16th league for the England striker and the eighth with Bayern Munich made the Bundesliga champions start their title defense efforts brilliantly at the Allianz Arena.

Colombia's winger Diaz, who scored in the German Super Cup (Franz Beckenbauer Supercup) last week, continued his brilliant start since his 75 million euros transfer from Liverpool this summer. He scored a goal before giving Kane two assists in the second half.

"Lucho (Luis Diaz), you know, it's only been a few weeks, but I feel we have an instant connection."

"He gave me some assists today. He also finished his goal very well," Kane told Sky TV.

Playing on the other side of Kane and Diaz, Michael Olise performed outstanding and scored twice in the first 45 minutes as Bayern Munich started the season without Thomas Muller leaving for the first time since 2007.

"I've been with Michael for a year and I feel our relationship is getting closer. In the first half, he was amazing, the goals he scored."

"Very good for them, good for their confidence. The whole team worked hard and it was a great performance," Kane said.

Bayern Munich dominated, except for 15 minutes after halftime when Antonio Nusa almost scored for the visitors.

Nusa, who was also ruled out, actually scored more goals than Kane.

"We want to be convincing and that's what we did. Leipzig is a good team, but today we excel in all lines and we are clinical when needed. So, we can enjoy this," said Kane.

Olise broke the deadlock in the 27th minute and Diaz again made the home fans cheer five minutes later when he fired hard after a fine move involving Kane and Serge Gnabry provided Diaz with his heel.

Olise scored his second goal two minutes later, facilitated by Gnabry who easily passed two Leipzig defenders to pass. Olise plays in Bayern Munich's central position due to Jamal Musiala's absence from injury.

Leipzig improved after the break, no doubt after receiving a strong reprimand in the first half from new coach Ole Werner.

Werner is one of six coaches to make a Bundesliga debut with a new club this weekend.

However, Kane scored Bayern's fourth goal in the 64th minute, beating a defender after receiving Diaz's pass and then slotting the ball past Peter Gulacsi in the Leipzig goal.

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany made four substitutions at once in the 68th minute, but Leipzig never triumphed.

Kane scored his second goal in the 74th minute, again through Diaz's pass. The England National Team captain then scored his first hat trick this season four minutes later.
