Indonesian Bicycle Para-Clap Wins 5 Gold Medals In South Korea

The para-cycling team that brought home nine medals from South Korea (doc. Indonesian NPC).

JAKARTA The Indonesian para-cycling team managed to secure nine medals, five of which were gold medals, from a bicycle racing event titled Korea Para-cycling Track Cup 2025.

The Korea Para-cycling Track Cup 2025 took place in Yangyang, South Korea, on 19-20 August 2025. In addition to five gold medals, Indonesia also brought home two silver medals and two bronze medals.

Indonesia's para-cycling coach, Rizan Setyo Nugroho, said that the nine medals were in accordance with the target set during the team's preparation period.

"It is in accordance with the target because this event is a moment to collect qualifying points for the 2026 Nagoya Asian Para Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics," said Rizan.

Tifan Abid Alana and Muhammad Fadli Imammuddin both performed brilliantly with each bringing home two gold medals from the championship.

Tifan's two golds came from the time trial number 1,000 meters classifying C2 and individual pursuit (IP) men C2. While Fadli from the time trial number 1,000 meters men C4 and IP men C4.

Syahdan, another gold medal was contributed by Sufyan Saori from the time trial number 1,000 meters to C5. Apart from gold, Sufyan also contributed a silver medal from the IP men C5 number.

A charming performance was also shown by Anwar Annaja, a new athlete who was monitored during the XVII 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in Solo City. Anwar won a silver medal in the time trial number 1,000 meters to C5 and a bronze medal from the IP men C5 number.

One last medal was won by Nurfendi who competed with his new tandem, Mufti Fadilah Salma. Nurfendi won a bronze medal in the IP men B number.

The achievement of this medal is also complemented by the breaking of individual records of several Indonesian athletes. Tifan Abid recorded a time of three seconds faster than last year's record at Yangyang Velodrome.

Sufyan Saori also broke the record on outdoor velodrome, from five minutes 11 seconds to five minutes four seconds or seven seconds faster than his old record.

"This is a very extraordinary achievement because we have been looking forward to it for a long time and finally it can improve," said Rizan Setyo.

The South Korean championship was used by the coach as an opportunity to map out the opponent's strength to face the 2025 ASEAN Para Games and the 2026 Asian Para Games.

Furthermore, the Indonesian bicycle para-cycling team has two try-out agendas, consecutive World Champ Tracks in Brazil in October 2025 and the Para-cycling Cup Road & Track in Thailand in December 2025.
