Slank Becomes Guest Star Closing Fornas VIII 2025 NTB

JAKARTA The legendary band from Indonesia, Slank, will certainly be the main star at the closing ceremony of the VIII 2025 National Community Sports Festival (Fornas) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The biennial sporting event ends on August 1, 2025. Slank and a number of national top artists will fill the spectacular entertainment stage marking the closure at the former Selaparang Airport, Mataram, Lombok, NTB.

Deputy V of the NTB Fornas VIII Implementing Committee, Indra Kuswara, revealed that Slank's presence was one of the main attractions.

"The vice president is scheduled to attend. He will witness the entertainment we have prepared, including a special appearance from Slank," said Indra.

Apart from Slank, the closing stage of Fornas VIII will also be enlivened by stunning performances from Pelita Group, talented singer Gea Indrawari, as well as a number of local NTB artists and musicians.

The combination of national and local artists is expected to be able to present various shows and entertain all participants, invited guests, and the community present.

Indra said that the closing ceremony of the National Forum was designed as a people's party that was open to the public. So, the general public is welcome to attend and enjoy the entire series of closing events.

"This is our offering for the people of NTB, as well as an opportunity for residents to mingle and celebrate the success of Fornas VIII along with thousands of contingents from all over Indonesia," he said.

Even though it is open to the public, the committee still applies strict screening procedures for convenience and security. The reason is, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is present as a VVIP guest.

The audience capacity in the main area is estimated at 36 thousand people. So, security at the closing venue is ensured to be much tighter than at the opening.

Head of the NTB Police's Binops Roops Division, AKBP Rohadi, said that there were a number of restrictions against spectators to be enforced to maintain order and security during the concert.

"The audience may carry a flag, but they cannot carry a stick. This is part of efforts to maintain order and security during the event," he said.

Fornas VIII NTB 2025 was recorded to be attended by approximately 48 thousand more participants. The organizers spread 36 venues in seven regencies/cities in NTB and competed with 74 Main Sports Organizations (Inorga).
