4 Titles Swept Away, China Proves Domination At China Open 2025

JAKARTA - Host China showed its dominance in the BWF World Tour Super 1000 China Open 2025 by winning four of the five titles contested in the final which was held at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, Sunday, July 27.

According to BWF's official records, eight Chinese representatives appeared in the finals from five sectors, reflecting the strength of the Bamboo Curtain country in the tournament with a total prize of US$2 million or equivalent to Rp32.7 billion.

The first title for the hosts came from the mixed doubles sector, when first seed Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping defended the title after winning over compatriot Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xing in two straight games, 23-21, 21-17.

In the women's doubles sector, the first seeded pair Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning had to work hard in a tight match against fellow Chinese representatives, Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shu Xian, before winning 24-22, 17-21, 21-14.

The dominance continues in the men's singles number, where Shi Yu Qi managed to turn things around to get rid of defending champion Wang Zheng Xing through a three-game battle, 14-21, 21-14, 21-15.

China confirmed the fourth title from the women's singles sector, when second seed Wang Zhi Yi appeared dominant in defeating Han Yue 21-8, 21-13.

The only title that did not fall into the hands of China was the men's doubles. Representative from Indonesia Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri successfully beat Malaysia's Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik 2 games.
