Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan Dies At The Age Of 71

JAKARTA Twice WWE Hall of Fame and former world champion Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He died at the age of 71.

The news of the death of the legendary wrestler whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea was announced by the family. He is said to have died after a heart attack.

"It is with deep heart and sadness, we confirm that we have lost a legend," his family said in a statement on social media seized by ABC News.

The family's statement follows confirmation of Hogan's death by police in Clearwater, Florida, United States, and from WorldWestling Entertainment (WE).

"WWE is very sad to know that WWE Hall of Fame Hulk Hogan has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans," WWE said.

The Department of Police and the Clearwater Fire Department took Hogan to the Morton Plant Hospital - where he was declared dead - after they received a heart attack.

The police confirmed Hogan was having serious medical problems and there were no signs of a suspicious violation or activity. His death is being investigated.

Hogan was one of the most well-known pop cultural figures, helping WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.

He started his professional wrestling career in 1977 and featured prominent in the World Wrestling Federation (now known as WWE), World Championship Wrestling, and Impact Wrestling.
