Fury Is More Motivated Against Usyk Than Joshua

JAKARTA Tyson Fury is more motivated to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the third time than getting out of retirement to fight his England rival, Anthony Joshua.

Fury announced his retirement earlier this year after losing his second duel against Usyk in December 2024. However, recently he was interested in going down the mountain for a trilogy with the undisputed world champion twice.

The well-known promoter Frank Warren revealed that Fury was eager to fight the Ukrainian champion rather than arrange a duel with Joshua, who many boxing fans have been waiting for for for a long time.

"We'll see, but he likes the fight and he wants the fight. It's a fight that will be fierce," he said.

Fury lost his first against Usyk in May 2024. He lost a number that left Usyk the undisputed world champion in the heavyweights for the first time since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

They then dueled again in December 2024, where Usyk had vacated the IBF belt. Fury lost again after undergoing a match of 12 rounds.

Usyk also showed trilogy interest with Fury after becoming world champion for the second time last weekend against Daniel Dubois.

" Anything can happen in this business. Maybe that fight can be done if Usyk wants to do it and Tyson wants to do it. I'm sure someone will be interested," Warren said.

So far there has been no definite date for clashes between Fury and Usyk. Their match is likely to be held next year because Usyk intends to take a break after beating Dubois.

His victory over Dubois made him the undisputed world champion three times. In addition to the two in the heavyweight class, the 38-year-old fighter has also done so in cruiserweight.
