Bend By South Korea, Indonesia Returns To The Quarter-finals Of BAJC 2025

JAKARTA The journey of the Indonesian mixed team badminton team at the 2025 Badminton Asia Junior Championship (BAJC) ran aground in the quarter-finals after losing to South Korea.

Mohammad Zaki Ubaidilla and colleagues swallowed bitter pills with a thin score of 109-110 in the match which took place at GOR Indoor Manahan, Solo, Central Java, on Monday, July 21, 2025.

In the clash, Ubed, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidilla's nickname, who played the team captain, had brought Indonesia 11-5 ahead when he played against Kim Min-seung in the first party.

"As captain, I apologize for not being able to bring the team to the podium or enter the final. We have tried our best, but have not been given sustenance," said Ubed.

The advantage of the Indonesian junior team then ran low after the pair Riska Anggraini/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine recognized the superiority of the women's doubles pair Cheon Hye-in/Moon In-seo 11-16 in the second party.

"My guard in the women's doubles, since the match against Malaysia, has often been followed. Then when against South Korea, earlier Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah was already ahead, but I was often overtaken. So, it was tight to go to the next sector," said Riska.

The defeat was also felt by the mixed doubles pair Theodorus Steve Kurniawan/Luna Rianty Saffana. They lost 4-12 to Lee air-woo/Cheon Hye-in.

The single sector of Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan and the mixed doubles pair Devin Artha Wahyudi/Ikhsan Lintang Pramudya also have not been able to bring Indonesia to turn ahead.

Until finally the match was determined in the 10th party through the men's doubles sector.

Devin/Ikhsan won 12-11 over Cho air-woo/Lee air-woo. However, in the end, South Korea won an aggregate of 110-109 and advanced to the semifinals.
