Indonesia Drops Caste To FIBA Women's Asia Cup Division B

JAKARTA The Indonesian women's basketball national team went down caste to Division B after not picking up a single win at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025 Division A which took place in China.

Indonesia completed their journey in the tournament with a defeat against Lebanon 57-67 in the match for the final 7-8 classification ranking at the Shenzhen Sports Center on Friday, July 18, 2025.

"Players have fought their best and put up the best resistance. Salut for them," said National Basketball Team Coach Putri Indonesia Andrie Ekayana in a statement received.

This is the fourth defeat swallowed by the Indonesian Women's Basketball National Team. Kimberley Pierre Louis and his previous friends lost against Chinese, South Korean and New Zealand hosts.

The win made Indonesia ranked eighth, aka a distended position in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025 Division A and had to play in Division B in the next edition in 2027.

"We go to Division B. We get a lot of lessons from here. In fact, everything, especially the aggressiveness of the game, must be improved," said Andrie.

In the match against Lebanon, the Indonesian Women's Basketball National Team opened the tap of points through Kimberley Pierre-Louis' two-point shot.LAH Archer later became the star of his team to equalize.
