Anthony Ginting Ahead Of Comeback: There Are Kagok Feelings

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will appear at the Japan Open 2205 after returning from injury (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Anthony Sinisuka Ginting admitted that he had feelings of failure when he was about to return to the tournament and participate in the Japan Open 2025 which took place this week.

Ginting, bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is out for six months and will only return at the Japan Open 2025 on 15-20 July 2025 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan.

"There is a sense of kagok for sure. Let alone six months, one month no match only has a match," Ginting said in a statement received.

Ginting has only appeared once in the BWF World Tour 2025 calendar. The only tournament is the Malaysia Open 2025 which will be held in the first week of January 2025.

After that, the badminton player from West Java was pulled over due to a cartilage injury and muscle inflammation on the right shoulder. This injury was experienced during preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Ginting said that not playing for six months was not an easy matter for him. He has to adapt to get an atmosphere on a competitive field.

"It must have been six months of blank like the faint feeling, so it must be remembered again what the last game was like," said Ginting.

Indonesia sent 13 representatives at the Japan Open 2025. In the men's singles sector, Ginting will be accompanied by Jonatan Christie and Alwi Farhan.

Japan Open 2025 will also debut the Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri pair. Apart from Japan, this pair will also play together in China and the Macau Open 2025.

Fajar/Fikri were temporarily separated by PBSI because their partner Daniel Marthin was injured and Muhammad Rian Ardianto was sidelined for family affairs.

The couple were immediately involved in a civil war in the first half against Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, who is the seventh seed.
