JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has confirmed that Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will appear in Japan and the 2025 China Open this month.
Head of the PBSI Development and Achievement Division, Eng Hian, said that the two names were dispatched to these two events after monitoring the preparations they had.
"Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung are confirmed to leave for the Japan Open and China Open 2025," he said in an official statement received.
Ginting has only played on the BWF World Tour calendar once this year. The only competitive event in question is the Malaysia Open 2025 in January 2025.
The badminton player from West Java was sidelined due to a cartilage injury and muscle inflammation on the right shoulder. Ginting experienced this injury during preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"For Ginting, it is hoped that he can get through both tournaments safely without injury and can regain his feeling of competing again ahead of the World Championships," said Eng Hian.
Meanwhile, Gregoria last appeared competitive at the 2025 Asian Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) in April 2025 in Ningbo, China.
The 2017 junior world champion was then bullied by vertigo so that he has been sidelined until now. Japan and the 2025 China Open are the sixth and seventh events for him this year.
"Gregoria diharapkan bisa tampil dengan performa terbaiknya dan menyelesaikan sekali pertandingan dengan kondisi yang tetap fit," kata Eng Hian.
The Japan Open 2025 with a Super 750 BWF level will be held on July 15-20, 2025 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. The China Open 2025, which is at the Super 1000 level, will take place on July 22-27, 2025 at the Changzhou Olympic Sports Center.
