JAKARTA Indonesia is said to be sending 1,548 athletes to the 2025 SEA Games multi-pronged event which will take place in Thailand in December.

This number was announced by the organizers after the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Sorawong Thienthong, chaired the 2025 SEA Games preparation meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

Indonesia is in third place if the number of athletes sent does not change, behind the hosts Thailand who sent 1,807 athletes and Malaysia with 1,580 athletes.

"The details of the number of participating athletes are Timor Leste (132), Brunei (250), Laos (598), Vietnam (1,019), Myanmar (1,077), Singapore (1,481), Philippines (1,499), Cambodia (1,515), Indonesia (1,548), Malaysia (1,580), and Thailand (1,807)," wrote the official website of the SEA Games.

Overall, there were 12,506 athletes who took part in the biennial event. In addition, there were a total of 6,253 officials from 11 countries who flew to Thailand.

The number of athletes from each participating country may still change due to entry form by name or the list of athletes from each new country will be submitted no later than September 1, 2025.

The draw for the team sport will be held on October 18 or 19.
