JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has confirmed that three Indonesian representatives will have to miss the Japan Open and China Open 2025 next month.
The representatives in question are women's doubles duo Apriyani Rahayu/Febi Setianingrum and Rachellessya Rose/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
Head of the Development and Achievement Division of PBSI Eng Hian explained that the three were withdrawn from the Super 750 and 1000 BWF level competitions because they were not in maximum performance.
"Because the results of the evaluation of several previous tournaments are still considered not to have performed optimally at the level of 500 and above," said Eng Hian in a statement received by the media.
Of the Indonesian women's doubles, they still have hope at Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi and Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti after Apri/Febi and Rachel/Maya were withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's mixed doubles can rely on the Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Pasaribu, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah.

"In the future, these three couples will be focused on participating in the 300 level tournament with the hope that they can win and their confidence will increase," said Eng Hian.
The two tournaments above are likely to be a comeback event for the men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
Ginting had previously been absent since the beginning of the year due to shoulder problems, while Gregoria has been sidelined since last April due to health problems as a result of being attacked by vertigo.
The Japan Open, which is at the Super 750 level, is scheduled to take place on July 15-20 in Tokyo. Meanwhile, the China Open with the Super 1000 BWF level will be held on July 22-27 in Changzhou.
