Beating Seattle Sounders 2-0, Paris Saint-Germain Qualify For The Last 16

JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) managed to secure tickets to the last 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup after beating Seattle Sounders 2-0 in the last Group B match at Lumen Field on Tuesday morning WIB, as reported by Antara.

Two goals from Kvaratskhelia and Hakimi were enough to ensure PSG went to knockout phase. They won Group B, thanks to Atletico Madrid's victory over Botafogo in another match, according to the official FIFA website.

Appearing in front of his own supporters, Seattle put up a meaningful fight, especially in the first half. However, their attack was not yet effective.

Seattle got a golden opportunity in the 19th minute. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made a fatal blunder when passing the ball straight into Ferreira's feet. However, with the goal wide open, the striker squandered the opportunity with a shot that soared.

PSG is starting to adjust the tempo and increase the pressure. Kvaratskhelia and Doue take turns spreading threats, but Frei looks solid under the Seattle bar.

A header from Ragen had slightly widened, becoming one of the best responses from the home team.

In the 66th minute, Seattle failed to score the equalizer goal. Vargas was late in executing a mature chance while just dealing with Donnarumma.

From this situation, PSG actually punished his opponent with a quick counter-attack. Barcola dribbled into the penalty box before sending a mature pass to Hakimi. The right-back from Morocco finished coldly to turn the score into 2-0.

Seattle continues to strive to catch up. However, the remaining time is not enough for Seattle.

PSG closed the match comfortably and secured the ticket to the next round.
