Inter Milan Approaches Indonesian Company-Owned Club Coach Replaces Inzaghi

JAKARTA - Inter Milan are rushing to hunt for a coach to replace Simone Inzaghi who has placed his position. Cesc Fabregas, coach of Como 1907, an Indonesian company-owned club, Djarum, is a strong candidate for Inter.

Inter have only had two weeks to get a new coach after Inzaghi's departure who gets a new club, Al-Hilal. The reason is, Inter will play their first match at the Club World Cup on June 17, 2025. They face opponents from Mexico, Monterrey.

Meanwhile, Al-Hilal, who is also competing in the Club World Cup, has prepared for Real Madrid on June 18, 2025.

However, Al-Hilal failed to get the Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Despite receiving a high salary offer, Fernandes chose to stay at MU.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have already negotiated with Fabregas. It is only not certain whether Fabregas, who succeeded in keeping Como in the highest caste of the Italian League, will be given the position of interim coach or permanent status to replace Inzaghi.

The opportunity to attract the former Spanish national team midfielder, who was once the pillar of Arsenal and Barcelona, seems quite open.

Moreover, Fabregas has rejected an offer to replace Xabi Alonso as Bayer Leverkusen coach. The German Bundesliga club finally brought in Erik ten Hag, the former Manchester United manager.

Likewise, the offer from AS Roma was rejected by Fabregas. Roma has also received a new coach Gian Piero Gasperini who has been in charge of Atalanta for nine years.

Although Fabregas is a candidate, Inter is also targeting other coaches as an alternative. Olympique Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi is a candidate if Inter fail to get Fabregas,

Apart from De Zerbi, there is Patrick Vieira who is currently handling Genoa. Coach Parma Cristian Chivu is also a candidate who can replace Inzaghi.

Chivu has long defended I Nerazzurri and won various trophies, including the 2010 Champions League. He started his coaching career by dealing with Inter's junior team.

At the club, the Romanian coach last handled the U-19 team before joining Parma.
