JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Persero (Tbk) continues to prove its commitment to supporting the development of football in Indonesia. Most recently, BRI took part in sponsoring the Garuda Futsal League Series 3 event which was held on May 20-24, 2025 at GOR UNY, Yogyakarta.
Garuda Futsal League (GFL) Series 3 is a continuation of a series of futsal competitions that have attracted the attention of young players from all over the country. This event is a forum for fostering young talents as well as instilling sportsmanship values, cooperation and positive character.
BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi revealed that BRI is committed to continuing to take a role in fostering the younger generation from an early age, including through sports. Futsal, as a sport that is popular with young people, is an effective means of shaping the character of discipline, teamwork and a healthy competitive spirit.
"BRI took part in supporting the organization of this competition, which is certainly a spirit of collaboration to build a young generation who is strong, healthy and full of sportsmanship," he said.

"With a sporty and professional competition atmosphere, we hope this competition can create an environment that encourages young people to continue to develop and pursue dreams in the field of sports," he added.
As a series of pre-events, GFL will hold a roadshow at the Malioboro Zero Point with the aim of inviting young people in Yogyakarta to compete in this event. This roadshow also invites the people of Yogyakarta to participate in enlivening GFL Series III through various exciting activities such as mini games, futsal challenges and the distribution of attractive merchandise.
GFL itself has been running in two previous series. Series I was held in Surabaya City in October 2024 which involved 24 equivalent SMA/SMK school teams in 3 regions, namely Surabaya City, Sidoarjo Regency and Gresik Regency. GFL Series 2 was held in January 2025 in Malang City which will be attended by 24 equivalent SMA/SMK school teams from Malang City, Batu City and Malang Regency.
"By supporting the Garuda Futsal League, BRI not only strengthens its presence in the community, but also plays an active role in producing a young generation who is superior, healthy, and competitive," added Hendy.
BRI's support for football is nothing new. Previously, BRI had also been the main sponsor of BRI Liga 1 for four consecutive seasons, the highest caste professional football competition in Indonesia.
Not only that, BRI also supports early childhood development through sponsorship in the U-14 Kompas League Powered by BRI, one of the most prestigious young football competitions in Indonesia, involving the 16 best Football Schools (SSB) from various regions that competed for 15 weeks from mid-December 2024 to May 2025. Participation in the Garuda Futsal League further complements BRI's commitment to supporting national football development from upstream to downstream. (ADV)
