Men's U-16 Basketball National Team Schedule At FIBA Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers

JAKARTA The Indonesian Men's U-16 Basketball National Team (Timnas) is scheduled to undergo the FIBA U-16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers 2025 match in Pampanga, Philippines, on May 24-30, 2025.

Indonesia's young squad had already left for the Philippines on Friday, May 23, 2025, at dawn WIB. There, Bryan Gilbert and his friends will compete with Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and host the Philippines.

Later, the top three teams of the final standings will qualify for the FIBA U-16 Asia Cup. Indonesia will start the struggle against Singapore on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

After that, Indonesia will face Malaysia and Thailand in a row without a break. The players got a break one day before against the Philippines and Vietnam on May 28 and 29, 2025.

"Their struggle is not easy, but everyone must always focus on every match. Their opponents are all tough," said the person in charge of the U-16 Men's National Team, Njoo Lie Wen, in a statement received.

Players who took part in the squad to the Philippines previously underwent selection in April 2025. Of the total 41 names participating in the selection, it shrank to 12 names were brought in, the majority of which were selected players from the National Championships (National Championships).

During their preparation, they played eight test matches against teams from Budi Luhur University, Perbanas, Bina Nusantara, PON DKI, Dewa United Academy, Gunadarma University, STIE BP, and Pelita Jaya Junior.

"The progress of the children is good. This trial is indeed to build a mental player match. That way, we get the same strong players between the first team and their coatings," said tactician Abrizalt Hasibuan.
