Mario Aji Absent In The Moto2 Race In France 2025

JAKARTA Mario Suryo Aji is confirmed to be absent from the 2025 French Grand Prix Moto2 race because he still has to recover from injury to the shoulder.

Honda Team Asia confirmed the absence of Super Mario at Le Mans on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The team also hopes that Mario can return to the track in the next race in England.

"Unfortunately, Mario Suryo Aji will not participate in this round because he is still recovering from his shoulder injury at Jerez," wrote Honda Team Asia as reported by the MotoGP website.

Mario Aji experienced a highside during the Q1 (Qualification 1) session in the previous series of the Spanish Grand Prix. He was diagnosed with shoulder dislocation so he missed the race at Jerez.

This is the second time Mario has missed the French Grand Prix in a row. Last season, he missed the race at Le Mans for undergoing arm pump surgery.

"We made a difficult decision not to join Le Mans so that he can fully recover. I will focus on recovery, both physically and mentally," said Mario.

The racer from Magetan, East Java, is ranked 20th in the Moto2 2025 standings with eight points.

The best result is that he finished ninth in action at the American Grand Prix which took place at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Texas, Austin.

"We have made a real improvement compared to last year, especially in terms of early speed and consistency. Unfortunately, minor shoulder injuries have hampered us a bit," Mario said.

The French Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from 9-11 May 2025 at the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans. This is the sixth series in this season's racing calendar.
