JAKARTA A total of 32 schools have just entered as contestants for the 2025 MilkLife Soccer Challenge early childhood women's soccer tournament which took place in Jakarta.
Head of Coach MilkLife Soccer Challenge, Timo Scheunemann, confirmed that the increase in the number of new participants mainly occurred at the age group (KU) 12 years.
"It shows the hard work of all parties to add awareness from schools, parents, and children. There are positives. The negative numbers in U-12 have not been accompanied by U-10," he said.
Jakarta is one of the cities holding the MilkLife Soccer Challenge which has always shown an increase in the number of participants since last year.
Previously in Series 1 2024, this tournament was only attended by 368 elementary and MI students. That number then tripled in Series 2 which reached 1,359 students.

Then at the MilkLife Soccer Challenge 2025 the participants reached 1,601 students. This number comes from 96 elementary schools and MI. During the tournament, they were divided into 32 KU-10 teams and 112 KU-12 teams.
Timo said that the higher interest was because the MilkLife Soccer Challenge ideas of the Djarum Foundation Sports Service and MilkLife had career levels, including most actual sending players to the international JSSL Singapore 7's 2025 tournament.
"I see parents definitely think this is positive. The long term is there and tiered. So, it doesn't just stop at elementary school, but has the opportunity to join the team to compete abroad," he said.
Four students from Jakarta from the selection of Milklife Soccer Challenge last year were recorded as successfully included in the squad of the HydroPlus Strikers (U-14) and MilkLifeShakers (U-12) team competing for JSSL Singapore 7's 2025 in April 2025.
They are Andien Haifa Syakira (SD Cinta TsuChi Jakarta), Albianca Raula (SDN Kebagusan 03 Jakarta), Clea Abelia (SDN Kalisari 01Jakarta), and Andara Alisya (SDN Mekarjaya 12 Depok). Despite their status as debutants, these two teams managed to become runners-up.
The coach of SDN Kalisari 01, Warizqy Mahirullah, admitted that the success of breaking the MilkLife Soccer Challenge at the JSSL Singapore 7's 2025 event had inspired students at his school to play football.
"After Abel returned from Singapore, he was called forward during the ceremony and then announced that he was runner-up at the prestigious event."
"This makes children even more interested in women's soccer," he said.
MilkLife Soccer Challenge 2025 Jakarta completed a series of matches on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Kingkong Soccer Arena, Cijantung, East Jakarta.
In the final round, SDN Pulogebang 13 managed to become an champion at KU-10 after struggling to beat SDN Gedong 03. Meanwhile at KU-12, SDN Kalisari 01 came out as champion after lowering the rival at SDN Mekarjaya 12.
