Stepping Into The All England Final, Bagas Maulana Fulfills His Promise To Leo Rolly Carnando

JAKARTA - Bagas Maulana was satisfied because he was able to fulfill his promise to his duet partner, Leo Rolly Carnando to appear in the final round of All England 2025.

The Indonesian representative's men's doubles stepped into the final round at Utiliti Arena, Birmingham after winning over the compatriot, Sabar Karyaman/M Reza Pahlevi. In the semifinals, Sunday, March 16 in the morning WIB, Bagas/Leo won after passing the game ruber with a score of 21-14, 17-21 and 21-15.

From that victory, Bagas/Leo got a ticket to step into the final and challenge South Korean representatives, Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae on Monday, March 17 in the morning WIB.

Bagas revealed that one of the keys to success in defeating Sabar/Reza is good communication with Leo.

"Certainly it is not easy to fight compatriots but we can get through it. In the first game the opponent looks not hot and makes a lot of mistakes himself. While in the third game we are more confident, strengthen communication with the partner," Bagas said in an official statement quoted on Sunday, March 16.

The 2025 All England final is the second in Bagas' career. Previously in All England 2022, Bagas won with Muhammad Shohibul Fikri after defeating the legendary doubles, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan.

Armed with experience having been to the All England final, Bagas had promised to be able to take Leo to his inaugural Super 1000 tournament.

"Indeed, a long and mature preparation was one of our keys to the final, but before leaving I made an appointment to Leo to bring him into the All England final and finally achieved. That's an additional motivation for me," said Bagas.

Leo himself is grateful to be able to appear in the All England final for the first time. He hopes to perform optimally as in the semifinals in the All England 2025 final later.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful, very proud to be able to go to the All England final. But we must not be complacent first, there is still a task for tomorrow. We want to do our best again. In addition, hopefully we can be consistent like this", said Leo.
