Como Vs. Venezia Prediction: I Lagunari Aims For Victory In Order To Survive The Relegation Zone

Como will try to return to winning ways when they host Venezia at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigglia, Saturday night, March 8 in the 28th week of Serie A. After losing to AS Roma last week, Cesc Fabregas troops want to secure three points in front of their own supporters against the visitors who are slumping and have not won the league since December.

Como suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat to Roma last week after having played with 10 players since the 60th minute due to Marc-Oliver Kempf's red card. Artem Dovbyk's goal in the 76th minute confirmed defeat for Como, who failed to record three consecutive wins for the first time since promotion.

On the other hand, I Lagunari, Venezia's nickname, is still stuck at the bottom with an alarming performance. Currently, Venezia is in 19th place with 18 points, four points adrift of Empoli in 18th and five points from the safe zone. With 11 games remaining, chances of escaping relegation are still open, but they must immediately improve their away performance.

Venezia's away game record this season is very bad. They are the only Serie A team that have never won an away game in the 2024-25 season, with five draws and nine defeats from 14 matches. If this trend continues, Venezia will be closer to certainty returning to Serie B.

The meeting record is also not in Venezia's favor. In the last four meetings in various competitions, Como took the lead with an 8-1 score aggregate, including a 3-0 big win at the last time he met in Serie B.

Como had to play without Marc-Oliver Kempf and Merger Vojvoda who were suspended. In addition, Ignace Van der Brempt, Ivan Azon, and Sergi Roberto are still absent due to injury.

Como has the advantage of playing at home and coming up with high motivation after beating Napoli. The absence of Kempf and Vojvoda in the back is indeed a challenge, but their attack line, which is in good form, can be a differentiating factor.

On the other hand, Venezia must win to keep their chances of survival in Serie A. However, their poor away performance makes this mission feel heavy. If Como is able to perform solidly and take advantage of chances well, they can win without significant difficulties.
