JAKARTA Ducati Lenovo Team's racer, Marc Marquez, managed to get out as the fastest in the first MotoGP 2025 race at the Thai Grand Prix.

The Spaniard and six-time world champion recorded a time of 39 minutes 37,244 seconds at Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand, on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

This time record put Marquez ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez who finished second. Alex of the Gresini Racing BK8 team finished with a time difference of +1.732 seconds.

The two brothers were followed by two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia, in third place. The Italian racer finished with a time gap of +2,398 seconds behind his teammate Marc Marquez.

The fourth position is inhabited by Pertamina's Enduro VR46 Racing Team racer, Franco Morbidelli. The 30-year-old rider was adrift of +5.176 seconds from the front row racer.

The results in Buriram further show a promising start for Marquez. Ducati's debut earlier on Saturday also managed to lock up the leading position in the Sprint Race.

These two victories make Marquez now sit comfortably at the top of the standings. He collects 37 points or eight points ahead of his younger brother in second place.

Marquez is currently chasing the seventh title in MotoGP. If you can appear consistent, it is not impossible that the 32-year-old racer will fulfill his dream this year.

The 1993-born racer last tasted the title in 2019 while still defending Honda. He was haunted by several injuries before returning to what he is today.
