Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin secured the Indonesian final ticket in the 2025 BAMTC final (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian badminton team managed to advance to the final of the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC) after overthrowing Thailand 3-1 in the semifinals at the Conson Gymnasium, China, Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Interestingly, the four matches played all ended in two games.

The Red-White team failed to secure the first point after mixed doubles Dejan Ferdiansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti lost two straight games against Supak Jomkoh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai, 13-21 and 20-22.

Indonesia then rose in three games afterwards. Alwi Farhan, who took part in the second party, started the Red-White comeback.

He managed to beat Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul in two straight games, 21-13 and 21-18.

Women's Singles Kusuma Wardani continued Alwi Farhan's slick journey. He completed the third match with easy two games against Busanan Ongbamrungphan, 21-10, and 21-8.

Indonesia's ticket to the final was then determined by the men's doubles Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.

Again, Indonesia can win two straight games. Fikri/Daniel secured Indonesia's place in the final after beating Peeratchai Sukphonon Pakkapon Teeraratsakul with a score of 21-13 and 21-16.

The 3-1 score made the last or fifth women's doubles match between Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti vs Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard not need to be played.

Next, Indonesia will face the winner between China vs Japan which will only be played this afternoon.

Indonesia's move to the BAMTC final is its own history. Since it was first held in 2017, the Red and White have never set foot in the top party.

In the previous three editions, Indonesia's best journey was to reach the semifinals that occurred in 2019.
