JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy has again held the Taekwondo KASAL Cup championship for the second time at the Purna Krida Sports Building, Badung Regency, Bali, on Friday, February 14, 2025.

The opening of this international championship was carried out by the Commander of Fleet II Command, Admiral TNI Ariantyo Condrowibowo, who represented the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali.

A total of 2,000 participants consisting of international taekwondo athletes, national taekwondo athletes, and TNI-Polri taekwondo athletes will also participate in this second edition of the championship.

The categories contested include the general category of kyorugi of cadets, juniors, and seniors. Then, there are also the categories of pre-cadet beginner kyorogi, cadets, juniors, and seniors.

The other two categories are poolmsae for cadet, junior, and senior achievements as well as pre-cadet beginner poolmsae, cadets, juniors, and seniors.

Meanwhile, in the TNI-Polri category, this year's Kasal Cup competes in two categories, namely kyorugi in senior classes and senior class poolmsae.

This championship is also carried out as one of the activities in the context of international training for the Indonesian Navy, namely the 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo which is engaged in humanitarian exercises and disaster management. Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) followed by 39 countries.

The Head of Dispenal, First Admiral TNI IM Wira Hady, said that the purpose of this activity was also a talent search for Indonesian taekwondo athletes.

"This championship is a future athlete talent search event for Indonesia," said Admiral Wira.

The plan is that the closing of this championship will be carried out by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
