Indonesia Masters 2025: Fajar/Rian Revenge To Reach Final

JAKARTA - Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto take revenge on Kittinupong Kedren/Dechapol Puavaranukroh to reach the final at the Indonesia Masters 2025.

They won two straight games 21-14 and 24-22 over the Thai pair at the Istora Senayan Stadium, Jakarta, on Saturday, January 25, 2025 evening WIB.

"Our goal is better. I think the day we can show changes. Hopefully tomorrow it can be better so we can win here," said Fajar after the match.

This is the second consecutive clash between the two pairs after the second round of the India Open last week. At that time Fajar/Rian lost in a three-game match.

In the final round tomorrow Fajar/Rian will face the Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee. This double to the final after beating their compatriot, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.

Fajar/Rian on paper led a 4-0 win-loss record. However, the last victory at the 2024 Japanese Kumamoto Masters lasted three games.

"Lastly we won three games. So, tomorrow hopefully we can maintain good stamina and be able to fight against them," said Fajar.

Total Indonesia placed two representatives in the final round of this Super 500 BWF level event. Another ticket was obtained by the men's singles badminton player Jonatan Christie.

Jonathan himself went through the semifinals by beating Chinese Taipei's singles, Wang Tzu Wei. He won their 18th competitive battle in two straight games.

Fajar/Rian and Jonathan have both been champions at the Indonesia Masters. Fajar/Rian won first in 2022, followed by Jonathan in the following year.
