South Korean Golfer Leads First Round IWO 2025

JAKARTA The South Korean golfer, Kim Sojeong, temporarily led the first round of the 2025 Indonesian Women's Open (IWO) golf tournament.

The first round of IWO 2025 will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025. There are two tease schedules (early and afternoon) that cannot be completely completed due to bad weather in the afternoon schedule.

Kim Sojeong, 24, managed to occupy the top position in her debut in Indonesia with a score of 66 (6-spar). Sojeong, who has been in professional status since 2018, started the first round of the Tee 1.

He was only able to break the beer eggs in hole 6, followed by 5 other birdsies. Sojeong even scored the impressive score without a single bogey.

"My game today went according to game plan. The first Birdie just happened in hole 6. Five holes before I was too focused on the game so it was quite difficult to make beer."

"However, I have a comfortable pairing partner so I can play more freely next," said Sojeong.

Sojeong temporarily led the leaderboard with the advantage of one blow from his compatriot, Park Sujin. Sujin's journey was not too smooth compared to his colleagues.

Three of them are players who play in the afternoon schedule so they will automatically change the leaderboard map tomorrow morning, Saturday, January 25, 2025. Bad weather today has some groups having to finish the rest of their holes tomorrow.

One of the players on the afternoon schedule, Cho Jeongmin (South Korea), managed to poke into the number one position after successfully completing the first round despite being limited in light in the afternoon. He was side by side with Sojeong with 6-par.

The Indonesia Women's Open is the opening tournament for the Asia-Pacific Circuit (APAC Circuit) Series Tour 2025.

APAC Circuit is a series of golf tournaments created to develop women's golf in the Asia Pacific region, replacing Women's Asia Circuit and the Women Asia Golf Tour (LAGT) which have stopped.
