Ibrahimovic Again 'Attack' LeBron James: Athletes Should Only Do Sports

JAKARTA - AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic reiterated his belief that athletes should only take care of sport when delivering his opinion addressed to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Speaking at a press conference Tuesday local time ahead of the start of the Sanremo music festival in Italy hosted by Ibrahimovic, he made his comments.

"Athletes unite the world, politics divide the world", said Ibra on the ESPN website which was reported by Antara, Wednesday.

"Our role is to unite the world in what we can do. Athletes should be athletes and politicians should be political".

In an interview for UEFA for Discovery + in Sweden last Thursday, Ibrahimovic said, "LeBron is phenomenal at what he does, but I don't like it when people with that kind of status are political at the same time".

"Do what you're good at. Do the category you're in. I play football because playing football is my specialty".

"I don't play politics. If I wanted to be a politician, then I would do politics. That's the first mistake people make when the person is famous and has a certain status. Avoid that. Just do what you can because it doesn't look good".

James replied to this statement, who stated that it was his calling to participate in voicing the concerns of the community.
