10 Points Behind City, Solskjaer Insists United Have Not Given Up

JAKARTA - Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that the title race is not "over" after his team beat Newcastle at Old Trafford, Monday, February 22.

United returned to second place in the Premier League standings by beating Newcastle 3-1 thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester City previously beat Arsenal 1-0 to extend their lead at the top of the table to 10 points, but Solskjaer does not believe the domestic league title is completely out of his team's reach.

"I will never say it is over to the end," the Norwegian coach told reporters after the match against Newcastle, as quoted by Antara from Goal.

"Maybe something happened. This is not what we think - we only think about our own appearance. That's the only thing we can control," he continued.

"We still have a lot of games to play, and as a team we have a lot to improve."

"We have been good in terms of mental and physical recovery. It's not easy to play Thursday night (in the Europa League) and come back here. Maybe that's why we need 45 minutes to progress."

The Red Devils are now preparing to play in the second leg of the last 32 of the Europa League against Real Sociedad on Friday morning this week which will be held at Old Trafford.
