Real Madrid Officially Announces Separated With Captain Karim Benzema

JAKARTA - Real Madrid officially announced their separation from captain Karim Benzema after the two sides failed to reach an agreement regarding the extension of the player's contract ending in June 2023. Reported by the club's official website today, Real Madrid announced the departure of the captain who has dedicated his career to 14 years in El Real uniform. "Real Madrid CF and our captain Karim Benzema have agreed to end an amazing and unforgettable partnership as a player at our club," the club's official website was quoted as saying in Antara. During his career with Los Blancos since signing from Lyon in 2009, Benzema has presented a total of 24 titles and has become the player who gave the most trophies to the club. A total of 24 titles presented by Benzema included five Champions Leagues, four La Liga, three Copa Del Rey, three Spanish Super Cups, four European Super Cups and five Club Club World Cups. Last season, the French player won the Ballon D'or title for the first time after an extraordinary season leading Real Madrid to win the Champions League. Real Madrid will reshuffle the squad this season. In addition to Benzema's departure, El Real has announced the departure of three of its players, namely Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz. Meanwhile, Benzema is rumored to be getting closer to playing in the Saudi Arabian League after receiving a contract offer worth IDR 3.4 trillion or 200 million Euro of free income without tax deductions for a two-season term. To fill Benzema's departure, Real Madrid are rumored to be approaching Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Chelsea striker Kai Havertz.
