JAKARTA - Rifat Sungkar's national team paired with Benjamin Searchy won the 2022 Lake Toba Reli after becoming the fastest in 12 Special Stages (SS) raced in the Parapat area, Simalungun, North Sumatra, Sunday, September 25. Using an AP4 Mitsubishi Expander vehicle, Rifat Sungkar posted a total time of 2:02:24.4 or a nearly two-minute lead with the second rank of Musa "Ijeck" pair Rajekshah/Hervian Sudjono. For the third position, the senior racer Ricardo Gelael won, who in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) and Reli National Championship series paired with Rony Maroun by posting a total time of 2:12:33.0. Sean Gelael was actually able to dominate until the SS 8. However, the rider who previously won the WEC Fuji Japan endurance competition got a penalty and was shifted from one standings to three. Sean also had to end the race in SS 9. Rain and slippery track are challenges for themselves in the race which takes place around Lake Toba which is always present in Dolok Country, Huta Tonga, Aek Nauli, and Gorbus. The race itself lasted two days and was attended by 62 drivers.
