Borussia Dortmund Supporters Surprised By The Club Management's Move To Bring In A Replacement For Erling Haaland

JAKARTA - Borussia Dortmund have brought in Sebastian Haller as a replacement for Erling Haaland who moved to Manchester City. However, the player actually had to miss quite a while due to health problems.

Haller is known to have a testicular tumor and is already undergoing chemotherapy. The Ivory Coast player is still recovering and will miss part of the season.

Realizing Haller will be out for a long time, Dortmund moved quickly to find a replacement. The choice fell to Anthony Modeste, a decision that raised questions from supporters.

The reason, this new player has a bad record in the English Premier League. He failed to score at all during his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in 2012.

At that time, Modeste, who was on loan from French club Bordeaux, was expected to help Blackburn escape relegation. However, instead of scoring goals, he actually pocketed one red card in his career there.

Dortmund clearly hopes that the 34-year-old will not repeat his dark past at Signal Iduna Park. Moreover, he performed brilliantly last season.

In 32 appearances in the Bundesliga, Modeste scored 20 goals. For this reason, it is considered reasonable if Dortmund brought the player from FC Koln at a price of 4.2 million pounds, or the equivalent of Rp. 75 billion.
