The U-16 Indonesian National Team Only Scored 2 Goals To The Philippines Goal, Bima Sakti: Those Opportunities Shouldn't Be Wasted

JAKARTA - The U-16 Indonesian national team won their inaugural match in the 2022 AFF Cup. However, they were only able to win 2-0 over the Philippines, Sunday, July 31.

This result is considered unsatisfactory. The reason is, the U-16 National Team could have won with a bigger score because it created many opportunities.

The coach of the team dubbed Garuda Asia, Bima Sakti, also regretted the result of the match against the Philippines at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

"These opportunities should be taken advantage of, not wasted. Unfortunately we only scored two goals," said Bima Sakti, as reported by Antara.

"However, the important thing is that we won," continued the 46-year-old coach.

Bima also considered that his team lost the ball too quickly. Arkhan Kaka and his friends looked uneasy when they had the ball.

The coach understands this because this is the first international experience for his team. "All these players are playing at the international level for the first time," he said.

"However, we certainly have to evaluate this. There is still a gap of two days before the second match," continued the coach.

Meanwhile, Philippines coach Christopher Pedimonte rate, Indonesia's quick goal has changed everything. He said the momentum of the match was greatly influenced by the goal.

"I think if that (goal) didn't happen, it could be a different story," he said.

Furthermore, the U-16 Indonesian National Team will face Singapore on Wednesday, August 3. The two teams will fight at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, starting at 20.00 WIB.
